Though drawn to academia—earning a PhD from Saint Louis University and later teaching at Southern Illinois University and the University of Wyoming—destiny had other plans. A serendipitous opportunity reignited his passion for sales, launching him into a lifetime of high-stakes deals and entrepreneurial ventures.

A natural closer, Larry dominated the competitive world of recreational real estate.

He rose swiftly as the top land salesman at Tahoe Donner, California’s sprawling 7,000-acre mountain community, until a water-rights dispute paused operations.

Undeterred, he pivoted to Silver Lakes near Victorville, again claiming the title of top performer. His next chapter took him to San Diego, where he co-pioneered one of Hawaii’s earliest and most lucrative timeshare ventures: the iconic Kona Billfisher.

After returning to Tahoe to develop and sell the Tahoe Village Condominiums timeshare, Larry embraced a brief “retirement” in Salt Lake City—a three-year interlude of global travel and powder-filled slopes.

But the call of the Tetons drew him to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where a twist of fate altered his trajectory once more. While constructing his dream mountain home, an unexpected opportunity led him to found Mountain State Acquisitions LLC, a mergers and acquisitions firm.

Today, with 100+ transactions under his belt, Larry thrives at the intersection of strategy and adventure.
